Cimmerian City

Raven Blackheart a former college student is attacked one evening while out with her best friend Jack. As she lays there ready to welcome deaths she sees her attackers being knocked away by two dark silhouettes and hears the sound of buildings falling in the background. She wakes up in a white room with no windows not knowing where she is. A gentleman named Tyler Deamond explains to her she is at the Tech Corporation and he is the VP. He also explains that how she got there is a mystery but that she has been asleep for ten years. But they nursed her back to health after she and her friend Jack were attacked. She asked if Jack was there as well and he explained that Jack had not made it .He also informs her that there has been a war brewing while she has been asleep between the Dracins. They are similar to vampires but have differences. As to that they can walk in daylight and are not afraid of garlic or crosses. The other race is the humans. He explains to her that she is in between the races. She is a hybrid of the Dracins and the Humans. When everyone was attacked before their blood could be overtaken by the dracin genes they were killed. She was one of the ones that was not killed. Tech Corporation wants her to help to bring the two races together by killing anyone that opposes Tech Corporation. She quickly learns after a couple of missions that Deamond has not told her the truth after a murder of one of Tech Corporations High officers is murdered. When Raven Confronts Deamond he tries to have her killed but with the friends she has made she escapes harm and learns that she has family still alive.Rae Lindley creates an amazing futuristic world between the Dracins and Humans. Since there are new vampire stories coming out that are putting a new spin to the tired old vampires of myth and legend. She makes sure to keep the line going with this fresh new look at vampires in a different light. Her characters are full of depth and life and you truly understand how they feel. Cimmerian City is full of action and holds the readers attention. This is truly one for the keeper shelf.
